Mother Gladys J. Thomas was born, April 24, 1923 in Salley, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late James Dunbar and Letha Lubell Jenkins. She was married to the late Henry Thomas. On March 21, 2019 at 10:50 AM at Aurora Pavilion Center our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend received her wings and went home to spend eternal life with the Lord.
Mother Gladys Thomas was baptized and became a member of Oakey Spring Baptist Church at an early age where she served faithfully until her health started to fail and even then, she enjoyed coming to church when she was able. She participated in various activities within the church when her health was good, such as the Usher Board, Senior Choir, Missionary, Church Custodian and as one of the Mothers of the Church.
Mother Gladys Thomas was a strong, faithful praying mother who truly loved the Lord, her church and her Pastor. The love of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the source of her strength. Mother Gladys Thomas loved her family unconditional. She had a love for people and she never met a stranger. Her sweet personality and her beautiful smile would light up a room and she captured the hearts of many who would claim her as their mother or grandmother figure.
