Amari Thomas Graham Obituary

On Saturday, February 3, 2024, Amari Thomas Graham transitioned to his heavenly home to be with the Lord. Amari was born February 8, 1998 to James and Melvinia Thomas Graham. At an early age he accepted Christ and joined the New Beginning United Methodist Church. He was a member of Children’s Choir and the Jr. Usher Board.

Amari attended Hunter-Kinard Tyler High in Neeses, SC but graduated from Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees, NJ in June 2016. Amari has always loved football. Whether he was watching his favorite team the New England Patriots or playing for the Norfield Hornets, HKT Trojans or Eastern Regional HS Vikings, he gave 100%. He received numerous awards from all of his football programs.

After graduation he joined the United States Navy where his first station was in San Diego, California. He served faithfully as a helicopter mechanic until he was honorably discharged in February 2023. In March 2023, he began his career at Medical City Las Colinas hospital system in Irving, Texas.

With many aforementioned accomplishments and accolades, one that he seemed most proud of was being a self-taught artist. Amari began drawing at a very young age and over time his passion for artistry grew. His astonishing talent was stellar. Referring to himself on the social media platform Instagram as Young Piccasso, Amari was an exemplary, notable and established modern artist.  His drawings were seen and recognized worldwide, even gaining the attention of celebrities such as Lil Durk, David Radsick, Dee Stroying, and Ty Hill, to name a few. He received much recognition after his stroke of the pen with such things as receiving an invitation to a Durk celebrity Concert, having artist, Da Cheetah repost his photo on Instagram, having an Etsy store which was noted as being sold out, and even having some of his photos purchased by the noted famous individuals.

On March 26, 2018, Amari married the former April Walker and they are the proud parents of a beautiful daughter, Amaya Melvinia Elizabeth Graham. Amaya was born on May 20, 2020.  He was a loving and doting husband  and father.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Melvinia Thomas Graham, grandfather, Mail Thomas Jr. and grandmother, Linda Thomas.

His legacy will be continued by his loving wife, April Graham of Irving, Texas; one adorable daughter, Amaya Graham of the home; his devoted father, James(Chquetta)Graham Jr. of Voorhees, New Jersey; siblings, Damion Graham of Orangeburg, South Carolina, Ciara Graham, Zyhaire Graham, Nathaniel Roberts, Javon Roberts, and Aniyah Roberts all of Vorhees, New Jersey and Teaonia Thomas of Williston, South Carolina; Grandparents, James Graham Sr., and Sarah Bingley both of Bamberg, South Carolina;  Aunts, Yolanda (James) Irons of Williston, South Carolina and Natasha (Jonathan Mole) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Uncles, Chauncey (Lucretia)Graham of Columbia, South Carolina, Ashton(Latoya) Counts of Charlotte, North Carolina; Special Aunts, Sharon Thomas and Betty Jennings; Godmother, Eanion Fields of Hampton, South Carolina; Father In Law, Antonio Walker; Mother In Law, Betty Walker; and a host of great aunts, cousins and friends.
