"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." - 2 Timothy 4:7
With hearts full of both sorrow and gratitude, we celebrate the life and legacy of Mr. Bobby Louis James, who was born on July 4, 1953, in Springfield, South Carolina, to the late Dovene and Vera James. On October 9, 2025, Bobby peacefully departed this life and entered eternal rest, wrapped in the love of God and the promise of everlasting peace.
On March 16, 1973, Bobby united in holy matrimony with the late Mrs. Martha Ann Stroman James. Their blessed union, rooted in faith, endured for 46 years until Martha’s passing in 2019. Together, they built a home centered on family, and the Lord.
Bobby was an avid fisherman who found joy and serenity on the water, a passionate sports enthusiast, and above all, a devoted family man. His greatest joys came not from earthly treasures, but from time spent with those he loved, his family, his friends, and his community.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories in the hearts of those who survive him: his beloved children, Tosha James and Demetrius James, both of Norway, South Carolina; his loving siblings, Dovene (Margaret) James, Mary A. Coleman, and Norway (Willie B.) James, all of Norway, South Carolina; Evelyn James of West Palm Beach, Florida; and Eric (Tamika) James. He is also survived by one adored grandchild, De’Seann D. James, and one precious great-grandchild, Kamoria James; his dear aunt, Lois James; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and lifelong friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
Though we mourn his passing, we rejoice in knowing that Bobby Louis James is now resting in the arms of his Savior, reunited with his beloved wife and loved ones who have gone before him. His life was a testimony of strength, humility, and love — and his memory will continue to inspire all who knew him.
"Well done, good and faithful servant... enter into the joy of your Lord." — Matthew 25:23
