Mr. Thomas Fitzgerald "Fit" Ritter Obituary

“I’ve had some good days.  I’ve had some hills to climb.  I’ve had some weary days and some sleepless nights but when I look around, and I think things over….All of my good days out weigh my bad days; I won’t complain.”

Mr. Thomas Fitzgerald “Fit” Ritter was born Aprill 11, 1966 to the late Thomas M. and Louise B. Ritter. He attended the public schools of Allendale County, and graduated from Allendale-Fairfax High School, class of 1984. His post high school education was pursued at the University of South Carolina (Salkehatchie and Columbia campuses) and Midlands Technical College. He was a member of the United States Air Force having served in The Persian Gulf War, also known as Operation Desert Storm, and was honorably discharged.  He continued to serve as a member of the South Carolina Air National Guard, McEntire National Guard Station, Eastover, South Carolina. His employment tenure includes International Paper, Eastover, South Carolina, and lastly, The United States Post Office, West Columbia, South Carolina. He was married to Felicia Sutton and this union was blessed with two children, Tierra and Thomas.

Mr. Ritter was preceded in death by his parents, brother Tommie, sisters, Bertha Mae and Eva.

Thomas leaves to cherish his loving memory, his children: Tierra Ritter, Lexington, South Carolina and Thomas M. Ritter, Elgin, South Carolina. Sisters; Amy (Garland) Huffman, Vernia L. Rivers, Columbia, South Carolina, Claretha Robinson, Lexington, South Carolina, Sara Doe, Laura (Joe) Owens, and Lavonne Gray Allendale, South Carolina. Sister in law, Patricia Ritter, Allendale, South Carolina. Aunts; Hannah B. Priester, Varnville, South Carolina, Eunice Brant and Lucinda Brant, Brunson, South Carolina, Dottie J. Platts and Beatrice Brant, Savannah, Georgia, and Linda Priester, Allendale, South Carolina. Great Aunt; Mary Frederick, Fairfax, South Carolina. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other loving relatives and friends all who will miss him dearly.
