“For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands.”
– 2 Corinthians 5:1
Mrs. Essie Lou Porter was born on January 18, 1938, in Orangeburg County, South Carolina, to the late Cliff Robinson and Mary Bell Robinson. She peacefully entered eternal rest on September 27, 2025, at the Carlisle Senior Care Facility in Blackville, South Carolina.
Essie was united in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Samuel Porter. Their union was one of love, faith, and dedication, a reflection of God’s grace in their lives.
She received her early education in the Goodwill and St. Paul schools in Sawyerdale, South Carolina. Essie carried herself with grace and dignity, guided by a deep and abiding faith in the Lord. Her presence brought comfort, her words carried wisdom, and her life reflected a quiet devotion to both God and family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Samuel Porter, and her dear sister, Dorothy Robinson Landy.
Left to cherish her precious memory are her loving brother, Cliff Robinson, Jr., along with a host of devoted nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends. Though she has departed from this earthly life, her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
"Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord."(Matthew 25:23)
