"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." — Psalm 23:1
With profound sorrow, yet with hearts comforted by faith, we announce the passing of Mrs. Hattie Mildred Nesbitt-Edwards, who peacefully departed this life on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2026, in Kissimmee, Florida.
Born on September 6, 1931, in Springfield, South Carolina, she was the beloved daughter of the late George and Georgia H. Nesbitt. Hattie lived a long and blessed life, rooted in love, service, and unwavering faith in God. Her life was a testament to grace, perseverance, and the power of a giving heart.
Mrs. Hattie Mildred Nesbitt-Edwards was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Tiland Elizabeth “Liz” Nesbitt-Roebuck of Jamaica, New York; her sons, David Edwards of Queens, New York, Arthur Edwards Jr. of Springfield, South Carolina, and Eric Edwards of Kissimmee, Florida; her brother, JD Nesbitt of Stockbridge, Georgia; and her beloved sister-cousin, Karidean Rush of Springfield, South Carolina and Brooklyn, New York. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Edwards; her daughters, Dr. Patricia Edwards-Bido and Antionette Edwards-Spalding; her brother, Roosevelt “Bubba” Nesbitt; and her sister, Maudell Nesbitt-Tyler.
We take comfort in knowing that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord, and that Hattie now rests in eternal peace, reunited with her loved ones. Her life reflected the light of Christ, and her legacy of love and kindness will continue to shine through all who were blessed to know her.
