Mrs. Jessie Dowling

Mrs. Jessie Bell Dowling, daughter of the late Vernetta Tyler and Jasper Youmans, was born on May 21, 1931 in Orangeburg County,  She entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 6, 2021 at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, SC.

She attended school in Norway, SC.  She was a domestic worker with a wonderful personality.  She loved her family and friends.  Mrs. Jessie loved collecting beautiful antiques.  At an early age, she joined the Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Norway, SC.

She was preceded in death by:  her parents, Vernetta Tyler and Jasper Youmans;  husband, John Henry Dowling; sisters, Ruth Jones, Nita Williams and Geraldine Hart; brothers, Earl Youmans, Johnny Bell, Champion Youmans, John C. Youmans, Arthur Youmans, John Wesley Hart and Felder Youmans; along with six sisters-in-law.

Mrs. Jessie Bell Dowling leaves to cherish her precious memories:  her son, David Holmon, Sr. of the home; daughter-in-law, Linda Holmon; loving sister, Jasper Ann Steadman; brother-in-law, Benjamin R. Steadman; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; special cousin and caretaker, Janie Stephens; along with numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
