Ms. Roshanda Laynet Johnson was born in Barnwell County, South Carolina on January 9, 1978 the daughter of Marcella Matthews and the late Joseph Williams. She departed her earthly home to live eternally with Jesus on Thursday, May 8, 2025.
Affectionately known and deeply loved by all who knew her, Roshanda was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Her kind spirit, radiant smile, and unwavering love for her family were the hallmarks of a life well lived. She especially cherished her role as a mother and found immeasurable joy in being a grandmother. Her legacy of compassion, strength, and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
Shanda as she was so affectionately called was a 1997 graduate of Blackville Hilda High School in Blackville, South Carolina. She was employed by McDonalds in Clearwater, South Carolina at the time of her demise. In addition to her father, Mr. Joseph Williams, she is preceded in death by her grandfather, David Rose, Merion and Melvin Williams.
Those left to cherish her fond and loving memories are her daughter, Alexcia Johnson James; her son, David Johnson of the home; her Mother, Marcella (James) Matthews of Aiken, South Carolina; two sisters, Shanekole Williams of Aiken, South Carolina and Precious Wooden; one brother, Eric Rose of Springfield, South Carolina; two beautiful granddaughters, Azaela Ka’Mya Friday and Jehlani Laynet Johnson; Grandmother, Gladys Rose of Springfield, South Carolina; Aunts, Patricia (Clarence) Casteal, Myra Rivers, Barbara Field, Paulette Green and Ella Louisa; Uncles, Donnie (Maxcine) Rose, Willie Joe (Shryl) Williams, Phillip Williams, James (Barbara) Williams and Chester Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
