Sergeant First Class Roger McCarthy Robinson, USA, Retired was born on March 31, 1954 son of the late Eunice Steadman Brown and Eva Mae Robinson. He entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 15, 2020 at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
Roger was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg County, South Carolina. He was a member of the New Beginning United Methodist Church. He enlisted in the United States Army where he served faithfully until retiring as Sergeant First Class. Later in life Roger joined and was baptized at the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Maryland where he was the founder of the sound ministry. He was also employed at Benedict College in Columbia, South Carolina.
He leaves to cherish his fondest memories one daughter, Rosland Robinson of Springfield, South Carolina; two sons, Tremaine Robinson of Maryland, and Daryl Davis of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; brothers, Paul Brown of Maryland, Ronnie Brown of Germany, John (Lelia) Steadman of Norway, South Carolina, Bobby (Betty) Steadman of Springfield, South Carolina, Lewis (Barbara Ann ) Morgan of Springfield, South Carolina, Luke (Sheveronne) Robinson of Fayetteville, Georgia, Ted (Sandra) Robinson of Aiken, South Carolina; sisters, Betty Jean Brown of Columbia, South Carolina, Eva Brown of Columbia, South Carolina, Carolyn Wilson and Tina Wilson both of Maryland, Patsy Pyatt and Kathy Sapp both of Springfield, South Carolina, Tonya (Bernard) Brown of Cayce, South Carolina, Cora Morgan of Columbia, South Carolina and Shontay Bell of Springfield, South Carolina; four grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
